Anfield Doubts Mount As Fabregas And Van Persie Miss Pre-Season

As we tweeted earlier today, Arsene Wenger has confirmed that neither Cesc Fabregas or Robin Van Persie will see pre-season action before the opening weekend of the season.

Talking to Arsenal TV Online, the Gunners boss counted them out of Saturday’s friendly against Legia Warsaw and suggested that they may not be available for the opening game at Anfield the following Sunday.

“Against Legia Warsaw you will see the players we saw [in the Emirates Cup]…I believe [Alex] Song will be short, you have a little chance to see Denilson and a very little chance to see [Abou] Diaby – but Fabregas and van Persie will not be ready.”

With both Fabregas and Van Persie suffering from potential World Cup hangovers and without the benefit of a pre-season runout, it would appear that their chances of playing a major role against Liverpool are slim to say the least…

The news will surely curtail any Fantasy investment in the build up to the season kick-off but, as we’ve alluded to previously, it does offer us options elsewhere in the Arsenal ranks.

Wenger’s side are one of the few who have genuinely impressed in pre-season and while the Gunners boss has been busy talking up the role that Jack Wilshere has played, astute Fantasy Managers will surely have noticed the form of both Samir Nasri and Marouane Chamakh.

Nasri in particular has enjoyed the most profitable summers. He’s been handed the freedom of an attacking role playing off Chamakh and has responded with four goals, his last strike being the decisive goal against Celtic in the Emirates Cup last weekend.

He would seem odds on for the same role at Anfield, even if Fabregas were to be thrown into the mix. Available at 7.5 in the Fantasy Premier League (FPL) and Metro games, Nasri presents an intriguing if perhaps short-term route to attacking points from Arsenal’s opening matches.

As for Chamakh, he would appear to be more of a gamble given that he is yet to face Premier League defence. At 8.0 in the FPL there are proven strikers such as Darren Bent and Gabby Agbonlahor available for just 0.5 more, both of which perhaps offer greater long-term security for starts. It’s a similar story in the Metro game where Chamakh can be brought in for 8.7, although the price jump to the likes of Bent is greater – the Sunderland man comes in at 9.2 in that game.

Liverpool re-sign Fabio Aurelio

Liverpool have confirmed that the club have re-signed left-back Fabio Aurelio on a two year contract. The Brazilian had left the Merseyside club earlier this summer, after failing to agree a new contract on a pay-as-you- play basis. "I asked the club to find out whether Fabio had found a new club," manager Roy Hodgson said. "When we ascertained that he hadn't, we invited him back to Melwood so both myself and my staff, and the medical team could properly assess the player. We were both very impressed and I am delighted we were able to re-sign Fabio."

West Bromwich sign goalkeeper Boaz Myhill

Goalkeeper Boaz Myhill has signed a three-year-deal with West Bromwich Albion. The 27-year-old has joined the Baggies after a successful seven year spell at Hull City and now faces competition with skipper Scott Carson for the No.1 spot. He will be included in the squad travelling to the Ricoh Arena for Saturday's pre-season friendly with Coventry City.

Sol Campbell joins Newcastle

Former England defender Sol Campbell completed his move to newly-promoted Premier League side Newcastle on a one-year deal. The 35-year-old has been a free agent since his short-term deal with Arsenal ran out earlier this summer. Campbell will bolster a defence that has been weakened by Steven Taylor's shoulder injury. Taylor is set to miss the start of the Premiership season, but there are fears he could be sidelined for several months.

Bolton sign Real Madrid defender

Bolton Wanderers have signed Spanish defender Marcos Alonso from Real Madrid on a three-year contract for a reported fee of €2.4m. Having progressed through the ranks at Real Madrid, the 19-year-old left-back made his full debut in April in a 2-0 win over Racing Santander. Alonso is Bolton's third signing of the offseason after attacking midfielders Martin Petrov and Robbie Blake.

Sunderland sign defender Marcos Angeleri

Sunderland have signed defender Marcos Angeleri from Estudiantes. Angeleri has signed a three-year deal with the Black Cats and made his debut for the club in their 4-2 friendly win over Hull City in Portugal, with the club waiting until after the match to officially confirm the transfer late on Saturday night. The 27-year-old has three senior caps for Argentina and becomes the third South American to join Sunderland, teaming up with Paraguay internationals Paulo da Silva and Cristian Riveros.

Manchester City sign Kolarov

Manchester City have completed the signing of Lazio left-back Aleksandr Kolarov after agreeing an €14 million deal. Kolarov played twice for Serbia at the World Cup in South Africa and will join fellow new signings David Silva, Yaya Toure and Jerome Boateng. Manager Roberto Mancini became aware of Kolarov's ability when he managed Inter Milan in Seria A. "He was composed on the ball had an excellent delivery with his left foot and was technically very able. I have watched him a lot since then and so have the Manchester City scouts. His attacking capability is very good. He is fast and can shoot with power and accuracy," Mancini said. "He also has the ability to play in numerous positions and is very good in midfield. This is an additional benefit to the team. He has a fantastic international career ahead of him. I am looking forward to working with him."

Vidic agrees terms on new United deal

Nemanja Vidic has ended speculation about his future by agreeing a contract extension with Manchester United. Chief executive David Gill said: "I'm very pleased to confirm that we agreed terms with Nemanja three or four weeks ago on a new long-term deal. He's still away on holiday but the plan is that when he gets back the papers will be signed. It's great news for Manchester United and great news for Nemanja and the fans."

Wigan sign midfielder James McArthur

Wigan Athletic have completed the signing of midfielder James McArthur from Hamilton. McArthur, 22, has signed a four-year deal at the DW Stadium and will link-up with old team-mate and fellow midfielder James McCarthy. Wigan manager Roberto Martinez said: "James is a really exciting prospect and we are all delighted that he has chosen to join Wigan Athletic. He is young, hungry, desperate to play for us in the Premier League and I believe he has all the attributes you need to be a success at this level."

Gosling joins Newcastle from Everton

Newcastle United have signed midfielder Dan Gosling on a four-year deal. Gosling was allowed to leave Everton on a technicality after they failed to make the offer of a new contract in writing prior to Gosling's old contract expiring. The 20-year-old was then able to leave on a free transfer. Gosling is currently recovering from a serious knee injury and is unlikely to be available to his new club for several months. He becomes Newcastle's second summer signing after Nottingham Forest defender James Perch.

Liverpool agree Wilson deal

Liverpool have completed their second transfer in as many days with the signing of 18-year-old Scottish Young Player of the Year Danny Wilson from Rangers. The centre-back follows Joe Cole to Anfield and has joined on a three-year contract for a reported €2.3m which could rise to €6m depending on appearances. Wilson had 12 months of his deal remaining and turned down an offer to stay at Rangers.

Cole's signed, Gerrard's staying

Steven Gerrard said he was looking forward to working with new manager Roy Hodgson, the clearest sign yet that the England midfielder will still be playing at Liverpool this coming season. Gerrard's comments come the day after Liverpool signed out-of-contract Chelsea midfielder Joe Cole, 28, on a four-year contract. "It's a great signing for us, it will be fantastic to play alongside him in a red shirt for Liverpool," said Gerrard after admitting he is impressed with Hodgson's plans for the future.

Liverpool's Insua to join Fiorentina

Liverpool have agreed to sell Argentinian defender Emiliano Insua to Fiorentina for an undisclosed fee. The 21-year-old played regularly at left back under Rafael Benitez last season, but it appears new manager Roy Hodgson is happy to allow Insua to move on as he reshapes his squad. Insua arrived at Liverpool in 2007 from Argentina's Boca Juniors, played 62 games for the English club and scored one goal.

Raub Championship 2009/2010 : The Final Review

Rasanya lama gila gak aku tak update blog ni. Memang lama gila a, bayang a, dari bulan 2 ari tu, soryla kepada kekawan yang setia/selalu bertandang ke sini tapi akan click 'Back' dengan hampa dan juga dapat point bold tapi tidak direviewkan.. hehe. Ntah, kekadang rasa xde masa, tapi bila ada masa, malas plak aku nak menaip menda2 kat sini. Sejak aku ada anak ni, memang maleh betul nak update post terbaru. Mungkin liga kita, Raub Championship tidak sepanas season lepas, suram, kelam, menyampah, point sket, Hassan asyik menang jek, Hassan handal sangat.. dan sebagainya.. haha.

Kalu nengok real-time EPL baru2 ni, champion ialah Chelsea, Runner-up; Man Utd, Third place; Arsenal, Fourth; Tottenham.. dan lain-lain (tak perlu disebutkan sebab ayam sangat - nak2 yang dalam gerombolan Europa League)
Untuk liga kita, Raub Championship plak, season 2009/2010..

Ai, ada post mortem plak? (hehe, memang xde keje betul)
Berdasarkan graf di atas, menunjukkan pergerakan ranking the Big Four liga Raub Championship dari start season sampai ler ke final game hari tu.

Facts:

- champion season ini aka Arsenal U30 leading 1st start dari week 5 lagi
- perebutan tempat kedua dan ketiga makin hebat start dari week 21
- team Kropol (3rd place) pernah menduduki tempat terhina 19
- team Alif (4th place) pernah gak 'sentuh' 1st place tapi sempat 2 minggu je ler
- paling banyak bold season ni dimenangi oleh team JFCM (tapi xde extra hadiah la, sory)
- ramai gak yang dah jadi 'pekongsi tidur' setelah putus asa dan hilang kepercayaan terhadap diri sendiri.. kekeh!


Conclusion

Ntah, aku pun tak tau masa depan Raub Championship ini di masa2 akan datang. Kemurungan, buat2 tak tahu, hilang ingatan rakan2 mengenai liga kita menyebabkan aku tak pasti samada contest fantasy di peringkat daerah Raub yang terunggul ini akan diteruskan di season2 yang mendatang. Kalu ada niat pun, biarlah orang lain yang handle - bukan apa, tiada la keraguan kan kalu pengajur yang handle tu bukan la orang yang asyik jadi champion je sentiasa, kan? hehe.

Mengenai penyampaian hadiah kepada pemenang, aku cadang nak buat BBQ untuk semua, dan perlukan gak bantuan kekawan dalam menjayakan majlis itu. Tarikh akan diberitahu..

Ini je agaknya buat masa sekarang, bubuy then!

Weekly Performance : WEEK 21

Kropol bold lagi?! Anak kelahiran Felda Tersang ini memang sangat bernasib baik selalu. Ye la, time aku ada masa nak post Weekly Performance ni, time tu la dia point banyak. Buat pengetahuan kekawan sekalian, aku ada masa nak berinternet ni, sebab; 1st, aku tengah cuti n duduk umah aku kat Raub yang ada wifi, 2nd, walaupun aku menerima famili member baru, tapi baby aku ngan mama dia sekali masuk wad sebab dia kena kuning - aku nak melawat plak ada time2 tertentu jek, ada ke patut guard kunci grail wad kanak-kanak tu, first day tak kunci, aku gamble je a masuk walaupun bukan time melawat - agaknya diorang hangin sebab nampak aku tak reti bahasa agaknya. Mintak kekawan doakan anak aku cepat sembuh, amin. So, masa yang terluang pepagi nih, aku boleh a tulis sket2 kat Raub Champions nih.

Ops, tapi nanti dulu. Bercakap pasal baby baru pertama aku ni, agaknya mungkin la, kebarangkalian ada member2 yang tak tau lagi kan.. hehe. So aku nak introduce sket, anak Champion season lepas ni


Nur Nasira bt Hassan @ Abd Rahim namanya. Lahir pada 30hb Januari 2010, pukul 10:43 pagi. Berat lahir, 3.5 kg. Hehe. Pada kasarnya memang nampak cam takde kaitan ngan blog Raub Champions kita ni, tapi sebenarnya aku nak bagitau korang, bila moral kita naik (maknanya kita gembira la kan), pemikiran kita pun jadi bagus, muka pun ada sinyum, so performance kita tak kira a keje atau aktiviti masa lapang akan meningkat. Sebab tu la kalu korang kaji, kat sektor kerajaan ke, swasta ke, mesti ada ruang motivasi diberikan kepada pekerja2. Yes, motivasi memang penting (rujuk video best ni), kalu tak camane plak aku bleh jadi champion season lepas dan still jadi pendahulu league kita skrang nih (berbau riak la plak.. hehe sory2)

Berbalik kepada Kropol tadi (sebenarnya aku malas sgt nak cita tentang bold dia tu, saje aku gunakan ruang ni nak announce baby baru aku tu.. hehe jgn marah ha). Kalu kita tengok team2 leader/pendahulu league Raub Championship ni, memang kebanyakannya akan ambik player yang main dua game, terutamanya team Chelsea n Fulham. Cuba kita nengok line up team yang bold, Panthers II...
