Hall of Fame : SEASON 2010/2011

Kembali menulis di sini. Memang lama gilo dah tak post apa-apa kat sini - baru dua orang anak, dah macam jadi PM. POWER UP!!

Season 2010/2011

Mementang aku tak menang season lepas, lambat-lambat je buat review.. hehe. Takpe, ni khas untuk ko, Yus. Pui!

Menampilkan Man Utd sebagai pemenang EPL. Arsenal dapat gak tempat dalam Champions League, dan sekarang tinggal dia dan Chelsea sahaja beraksi dalam liga handalan itu. Man U mana? - main Europa League? Liga hina tu? haha. Bergelumbang la semua fan Man U dengan taik-taik hinaan kelab bawahan.

Aku, secara ikhlasnya, memang nak menang liga Raub Championship kita ni buat 3 kali berturut-turut melengkapkan hatrik.

Kesimpulannya;

Champion: Yusri KRU (Juventus Rawang)

Runner Up: Penganjur Yang Hensem (NASIRA 8)

Third Place: Kropol Tersang Boy (Panthers III)

Fourth Place: Alif Skrtel (THE KOP)

Fifth Place: Didi Alias (Liversuarez)

Season 2011/12 Performance

Selamat berfantasi (bukan masturbate ye.. haha)

Premier League Team News

  1. Arsenal

    Predicted Lineup

    • Szczesny
    • Djourou
    • Koscielny
    • Mertesacker
    • Santos
    • Arteta
    • Song
    • Ramsey
    • Walcott
    • van Persie
    • Gervinho

    • Next Match: Stoke (H)
    • Out:
      • Abou Diaby
      • Almunia
      • Gibbs
      • Sagna
      • Vermaelen
      • Wilshere
    • Doubts:
      • Jenkinson
    • Banned:

    • Last Time Out…Aaron Ramsey missed out against Sunderland due to a very minor hamstring strain – that allowed Tomas Rosicky to come into the midfield. Kieran Gibbs started at left-back once again but was forced off on 50 minutes with a stomach muscle strain. Theo Walcott and Gervinho were again given the wide roles with Andrei Arshavin restricted to a cameo from the bench.
    • This Time Around…Arsene Wenger may be without a fit right-back for the clash after Carl Jenkinson suffered a knee injury in the Champions League victory over Marseille. The youngster had been deputising for Bacary Sagna, who is sidelined with an ankle problem, but it has been confirmed that he is very unlikely to make the game. If he fails to prove his fitness, the manager will most likely use Johan Djourou who is adept in the position. Kieran Gibbs is another defensive doubt with Andre Santos, who started in Europe, likely to continue. Aaron Ramsey, should return in midfield with Tomas Rosicky likely to make way. Wenger must once again decide who to start in the wide roles with Andrei Arshavin again likely to miss out.
  2. Aston Villa

    Predicted Lineup

    • Given
    • Hutton
    • Collins
    • Dunne
    • Warnock
    • Bannan
    • Petrov
    • Ireland
    • Delph
    • Bent
    • Agbonlahor

    • Next Match: West Brom (H)
    • Out:
      • Delfouneso
      • Jenas
      • Lichaj
    • Doubts:
      • Collins
    • Banned:
    • Last Time Out…Alex McLeish brought Emile Heskey back into his starting lineup, preferring him to Barry Bannan, perhaps due to the latter’s recent international duties. The Scot did feature in the second half, though. James Collins failed to recover from a foot injury, with Ciaran Clark stepping into the defence as his replacement. The likes of Marc Albrighton and Charles N’Zogbia were again given bench roles, although both saw action in the second-half.
    • This Time Around…James Collins has handed Alex McLeish a boost by declaring himself fit for clash. The centre-back missed out against Manchester City with a groin injury and is expected to replace Cairan Clark in the starting lineup. The game will come too soon for on-loan Jermaine Jenas though who is reportedly still three to four games away from full fitness. Emile Heskey could make way with Barry Bannan, who was benched at City last time out, coming back into the team. This would mean a shift back to 4-4-2 formation, with Darren Bent and Gabby Agbonlahor partnered up front.
  3. Blackburn Rovers

    Predicted Lineup

    • Robinson
    • Salgado
    • Dann
    • Samba
    • Givet
    • Hoilett
    • N'Zonzi
    • Lowe
    • Olsson
    • Petrovic
    • Roberts

    • Next Match: Tottenham (H)
    • Out:
      • Grella
      • Nelsen
    • Doubts:
      • Dunn
      • Pedersen
    • Banned:
    • Last Time Out…Steve Kean made three changes to the side that lost at home to Man City the previous Gameweek, with Jason Roberts, Michel Salgado and Martin Olsson all in the starting XI. David Goodwillie recovered from food poisoning but could only make the bench, though he did come on as a second half sub late on. Yakubu’s brace against Arsenal already seems a lifetime away- the Nigerian sat on the bench for the entire game. Jason Lowe shifted to a midfield role, alongside Steven N’Zonzi and Radosav Petrovic.
    • This Time Around…Steve Kean could welcome back midfielders David Dunn and Morten Gamst Pederson for the clash with Spurs. The pair were both reportedly close to returns last time out against QPR and may into contention. Radislav Petrovic could be the one to make way should Pedersen make a return, Dunn would seem more likely to claim a bench role. Up front, the manager must decide whether to recall Yakubu or persist with Jason Roberts. David Goodwillie may also be in with a shout, but could be preferred for a role on the flank.
  4. Bolton Wanderers

    Predicted Lineup

    • Jääskeläinen
    • Boyata
    • Cahill
    • Wheater
    • Robinson
    • Eagles
    • Reo-Coker
    • Pratley
    • Petrov
    • Davies
    • Ngog

    • Next Match: Sunderland (H)
    • Out:
      • Alonso
      • Davis
      • Holden
      • Lee
      • Mears
      • Ricketts
    • Doubts:
    • Banned:
    • Last Time Out…Owen Coyle rang the changes at Wigan with David Wheater recalled in defence alongside Gary Cahill, while Dedryk Boyata kept the right-back role. Zat Knight dropped to the bench then, while Gretar Steinsson and Fabrice Muamba were left out of the squad with Darren Pratley and Nigel Reo-Coker continuing in central midfield. Ivan Klasnic was available after suspension but was given just a five minute sub appearance late on, with David N’Gog justifying his manager’s decision with a goal.
    • This Time Around…A win marked the end to Bolton’s lengthy losing streak and Owen Coyle, who revealed that the players’ jerseys are theirs to lose, will surely stick with the same starting lineup for this one. David Ngog will be expected to keep his place next to Kevin Davies in attack, with Ivan Klasnic again left on the bench. Fabrice Muamba, Zat Knight and Gretar Steinsson will be expected to miss out once again – the latter pairing failed to make the 18-man squad at Wigan.
  5. Chelsea

    Predicted Lineup

    • Cech
    • Bosingwa
    • Ivanovic
    • Terry
    • Cole
    • Mikel
    • Meireles
    • Lampard
    • Sturridge
    • Drogba
    • Mata

    • Next Match: QPR (A)
    • Out:
      • Essien
      • Hilário
      • Ramires
    • Doubts:
    • Banned:
      • Torres
    • Last Time Out…Andre Villas-Boas recalled Branislav Ivanovic to his defence against Everton, with David Luiz nursing a knock. Elsewhere, the Chelsea lineup was unchanged with Didier Drogba leading a three-pronged attack, leaving Nicolas Anelka benched.
    • This Time Around…Andre Villas-Boas has confirmed that Ramires has been ruled out the clash after the Brazilian international suffered an ankle injury against Everton and then missed out in the Champions League victory over Genk. Expect Mikel or Josh McEachran to come in alongside Frank Lampard and Raul Meireles in the midfield three. Didier Drogba, Juan Mata and Daniel Sturridge, none of whom featured against Genk, should all take their places in the starting line-up. Fernando Torres will complete the final game of his three match ban here.
  6. Everton

    Predicted Lineup

    • Howard
    • Hibbert
    • Jagielka
    • Distin
    • Baines
    • Coleman
    • Fellaini
    • Rodwell
    • Osman
    • Cahill
    • Saha

    • Next Match: Fulham (A)
    • Out:
      • Anichebe
    • Doubts:
      • Heitinga
    • Banned:
    • Last Time Out…David Moyes was able to field an unchanged side at Stamford Bridge, with Jack Rodwell available in midfield after his red card was rescinded. That meant that club skipper Phil Neville was again left on the bench. He saw action on 72 minutes, replacing Tim Cahill but it was fellows subs Apostolos Vellios and Royston Drenthe who again made the impact. Vellios notching a consolation for the Toffees to continue building his reputation.
    • This Time Around…James McFadden starts his second stint as an Everton player and, although he is unlikely to be thrown in at the deep-end with a start, could get some minutes off the bench for the Toffees. Louis Saha should continue up front with Tim Cahill in the support role. Although, with no goals to his name so far this season, Saha’s position is under threat from Apostolos Vellios who has grabbed two in just five brief substitute appearances. Phil Neville may once again miss out with the likes of Jack Rodwell and Mauro Fellaini preferred in the central midfield positions and Tony Hibbert at right-back.
  7. Fulham

    Predicted Lineup

    • Schwarzer
    • Baird
    • Hughes
    • Hangeland
    • Riise
    • Dempsey
    • Murphy
    • Sidwell
    • Dembélé
    • Zamora
    • Johnson

    • Next Match: Everton (H)
    • Out:
      • Davies
      • Riise
      • Ruiz
      • Senderos
    • Doubts:
      • Murphy
    • Banned:
    • Last Time Out…Aaron Hughes returned to the starting lineup, with Chris Baird getting the nod at right-back. Moussa Dembele lasted just thirty-six minutes on the wing before a knock forced the Belgian off, affording Damien Duff some game time after Jol had decided to start him on the bench.
    • This Time Around…Danny Murphy is considered a doubt after failing to make the squad for his side’s Europa League clash with Wisla Krakow after sustaining a knee injury at Stoke. Clint Dempsey and Bobby Zamora, both of whom were rested for the trip to Poland will come back into contention. Damien Duff could challenge for a place in the starting lineup but faces competition from Moussa Dembele, who has been favoured one the left side of midfield in recent weeks. Orlando Sa is a doubt after sustaining a hamstring injury in the Europa League.
  8. Liverpool

    Predicted Lineup

    • Reina
    • Kelly
    • Skrtel
    • Carragher
    • Enrique
    • Gerrard
    • Henderson
    • Adam
    • Downing
    • Kuyt
    • Suárez

    • Next Match: Norwich (H)
    • Out:
      • Doni
      • Eccleston
      • Shelvey
    • Doubts:
      • Robinson
    • Banned:
      • Lucas
    • Last Time Out…Kenny Dalglish was able to welcome skipper Steven Gerrard to his starting lineup, with Andy Carroll dropping to the bench to make way. That saw a shift to a 4-5-1 with Dirk Kuyt and Stewart Downing flanking Luis Suarez up front. Lucas picked up his fifth booking of the season and was replaced by Jordan Henderson on the hour-mark – the former Sunderland man would seem favourite to replace Lucas for the meeting with Norwich.
    • This Time Around…The fit again Steven Gerrard should keep his place in the starting lineup and, after impressing against Manchester United, indeed, Kenny Dalglish will be expected to make few enforced changes here. Glen Johnson could be pushing for a starting role having come through over an hour of action in a friendly with Rangers on Tuesday and is now ready to battle it out with Martin Kelly for the right-back spot. Dalglish will be forced into a change in midfield with Lucas suspended - Jordan Henderson looks most likely to be drafted in. Alternatively, the Liverpool boss could shift to a standard 4-4-2, with Dirk Kuyt on the right flank with Gerrard adopting a deeper midfield role. That would see Andy Carroll partnering Luis Suarez up front.
  9. Manchester City

    Predicted Lineup

    • Hart
    • Richards
    • Kompany
    • Lescott
    • Clichy
    • Silva
    • de Jong
    • Barry
    • Nasri
    • Touré
    • Agüero

    • Next Match: Man United (A)
    • Out:
      • Tévez
    • Doubts:
      • Richards
    • Banned:
    • Last Time Out…Roberto Mancini rang the changes for the league game with Aston Villa, Edin Dzeko was rested, allowing Mario Balotelli to lead the line. David Silva grabbed just a brief second half cameo, while Samir Nasri was also rested, as Adam Johnson took centre stage with a goal and assist. James Milner lined up on the opposite flank as Gareth Barry and Nigel De Jong took up the holding roles. Yaya Toure was charged with supporting Balotelli in attack from midfield. Sergio Dzeko and Aguero returned to action in Tuesday’s Champions League tie with Villarreal – the latter starting from the bench but emerging to fire the priceless winner. Mancini again rotated his lineup for this game, drafting in Pablo Zabaleta and Aleksandar Kolarov at full-back – the latter putting in a man of the match performance in the 2-1 win. Nasri and Silva were restored, while Johnson was replaced after just 40 minutes as Mancini changed tact by introducing Barry from the bench.
    • This Time Around…Roberto Mancini will bring his big guns back into the starting lineup for this top-of-the-table derby. Sergio Aguero will be expected to return after recovering from injury and grabbing a crucial late goal in the Champions League victory over Villarreal. A handful of misses and a rather disappointing performance may see Edin Dzeko benched with the in-form Mario Balotelli given the nod as Aguero’s partner. Alternatively, Augero could play up front on his own with Yaya Toure, Samir Nasri and David Silva supporting. Micah Richards is a slight doubt after suffering a head injury against Aston Villa – should he fail to recover in time Pablo Zabaleta should start at right-back. Mancini must also make a decision at left-back, with Alex Kolarov impressing against Villareal – Clichy faces competition to regain his start. Elsewhere Adam Johnson will be looking to keep his place on the flank having been replaced on 40 minutes in Tuesday’s European tie.
  10. Manchester United

    Predicted Lineup

    • De Gea
    • Jones
    • Ferdinand
    • Vidic
    • Evra
    • Nani
    • Fletcher
    • Anderson
    • Young
    • Hernández
    • Rooney

    • Next Match: Man City (H)
    • Out:
      • Gibson
    • Doubts:
      • Cleverley
    • Banned:
    • Last Time Out…Sir Alex Ferguson’s starting XI was a major surprise. Wayne Rooney, Nani, Javier Hernandez and Anderson were all omitted for the 1-1 with Liverpool. Phil Jones’ versatility continues to offer him plenty chances of starts- this time he moved to central midfield and has now started United’s last eight league games. Rio Ferdinand joined Jonny Evans in the heart of the back-four as Nemanja Vidic missed out altogether, despite playing for Serbia in midweek. Vidic made his return to the starting lineup against Otelul Galati in the Champions League, partnering Chris Smalling in central defence with Fabio returning at right-back. Ferdinand was rested for Tuesday’s tie along with Jonny Evans, Darren Fletcher and Danny Welbeck, who all dropped to the bench. Wayne Rooney returned up front and claimed the 2-0 win via a pair of spot-kicks.
    • This Time Around…Sir Alex Ferguson has an almost fully-fit squad to choose from for the derby clash. Darron Gibson remains out with an ankle problem, whilst Tom Cleverley is still doubtful after sustaining a foot injury last month. Ferguson is likely to turn to a Wayne Rooney and Javier Hernandez strike partnership, with Rio Ferdinand and Nemanja Vidic paired at the back. Phil Jones will be favourite to claim the right-back role with Chris Smalling and Fabio set to miss out after starts in Tuesday’s Champions League tie. Darren Fletcher, Anderson, Ashley Young and Nani would seem likely starters in midfield. Although Ji-Sung Park, who is often used in important games, could also challenge for a start on the flank.
  11. Newcastle United

    Predicted Lineup

    • Krul
    • Simpson
    • Taylor
    • Coloccini
    • Taylor
    • Obertan
    • Cabaye
    • Tioté
    • Gutiérrez
    • Ba
    • Best

    • Next Match: Wigan (H)
    • Out:
      • Smith
      • Williamson
    • Doubts:
      • Ameobi
      • Guthrie
      • Vuckic
    • Banned:
    • Last Time Out…Alan Pardew was able to field an unchanged side in the 2-2 with Spurs. Davide Santon made his debut late on in the second half, replacing Danny Simpson, and may be pushing for a start next week at home to Wigan. Shola Ameobi came off the bench to strike a superb equaliser and he will be threatening to break up the Demba Ba and Leon Best partnership up front.
    • This Time Around…After coming off the bench against Tottenham, Davide Santon could make his first start in the Premier League for the Magpies. Alan Pardew has hinted that Danny Simpson is perhaps favourite to drop out, with Ryan Taylor continuing to impress at left-back. Although Santon is equally adept on either side of defence. Shola Ameobi gave his boss food for thought after grabbing the late equaliser last weekend and may nudge Leon Best, who has failed to score in his last three games, out of the starting lineup. With the midfield continuing to impress, Hatem Ben Arfa looks set to continue in a bench role.
  12. Norwich City

    Predicted Lineup

    • Ruddy
    • Naughton
    • Martin
    • Barnett
    • Tierney
    • Bennett
    • Fox
    • Johnson
    • Pilkington
    • Hoolahan
    • Morison

    • Next Match: Liverpool (A)
    • Out:
      • Ayala
      • Vaughan
      • Ward
      • Whitbread
    • Doubts:
    • Banned:
    • Last Time Out…Paul Lambert named an unchanged lineup for the fourth consecutive match, again leaving club skipper Grant Holt on the bench as Steve Morison lead the line in a 4-5-1. The likes of Ritchie De Laet, Andrew Surman and Andrew Crofts all had to make do with bench duty having been given opportunities earlier in the season.
    • This Time Around…Unless injuries force changes, Paul Lambert is expect to hand in the same teamsheet for the fifth consecutive Premier League fixture. The switch to a 4-5-1 formation has proven successful in recent weeks. Steve Morison has recovered from a knock picked up in the win over Swansea and should start this one - club captain Grant Holt, who has had to make do with a bench role recently, is expected to miss out again. Zak Whitbread is still sidelined with a hamstring injury.
  13. Queens Park Rangers

    Predicted Lineup

    • Kenny
    • Young
    • Hall
    • Ferdinand
    • Traore
    • Barton
    • Derry
    • Faurlin
    • Taarabt
    • Wright-Phillips
    • Helguson

    • Next Match: Chelsea (H)
    • Out:
      • Agyemang
      • Campbell
      • Dyer
      • Gabbidon
      • Hulse
      • Rowlands
    • Doubts:
      • Connolly
    • Banned:
    • Last Time Out…Neil Warnock sprung a major surprise at Loftus Road, with Adel Taarabt benched after his walk-out in the 6-0 defeat at Fulham in Gameweek seven. Jay Bothroyd also dropped out, with Jamie Mackie and Heidar Helgusson selected as their replacements. Armand Traore returned at left-back after serving a one-match suspension.
    • This Time Around…Neil Warnock has defended Adel Taarabt after the midfielder received a public berating from captain Joey Barton. The Moroccan midfielder could be recalled to the starting lineup after being dropped last week, although Jamie Mackie impressed with an assist and will be looking to hang on to his starting role. Heidar Helguson was favoured over the likes of Jay Bothroyd in the lone striker position and should continue there after grabbing the goal in the 1-1 draw with Blackburn.
  14. Stoke City

    Predicted Lineup

    • Begovic
    • Wilkinson
    • Shawcross
    • Upson
    • Wilson
    • Pennant
    • Delap
    • Whelan
    • Etherington
    • Walters
    • Crouch

    • Next Match: Arsenal (A)
    • Out:
      • Collins
      • Fuller
    • Doubts:
      • Higginbotham
      • Pennant
    • Banned:
    • Last Time Out…Tony Pulis was without Jonathan Woodgate in his defence for the 2-0 win over Fulham, the former Spurs man again struggling to sustain back-to-back starts. Matt Upson came into the starting lineup then, while both Matt Etherington and Jermaine Pennant overcame injury concerns to claim starting roles. Rory Delap partnered Glenn Whelan in midfield as Dean Whitehead dropped to the bench. Kenwyne Jones was fit enough for the bench but was unable to dislodge the partnership of Peter Crouch and Jonathan Walters up front.
    • This Time Around…After heavy rotation for the Europa Leauge against Maccabi Tel Aviv on Thursday, Tony Pulis is likely to revert back to his usual suspects for the trip to Highbury. Jonathan Walters and Peter Crouch should continue up front, keeping Cameron Jerome and Kenwyne Jones on the bench after their stint in Thursday’s tie. Danny Higginbotham and Wilson Palacios both featured for the reserves this week and could be in with a chance of making the squad. Glenn Whelan and Rory Delap will be expected to start in central midfield however, with Matt Etherington on the left-flank. Jermaine Pennant missed Thursday’s tie, along with Jonathan Woodgate, and their availability could yet be a concern for Pulis with reports suggesting that Pennant is touch and go. Ryan Shotton played on right side of midfield for Stoke in the Europa League and could fill in once again if Pennant fails to make the clash. Another option is dropping Walters back to the flank with Jerome or Jones coming in next to Crouch.
  15. Sunderland

    Predicted Lineup

    • Mignolet
    • O'Shea
    • Brown
    • Turner
    • Bardsley
    • Sessegnon
    • Colback
    • Vaughan
    • Richardson
    • Wickham
    • Bendtner

    • Next Match: Bolton (A)
    • Out:
      • Angeleri
      • Bramble
      • Campbell
      • Gordon
      • Gyan
    • Doubts:
    • Banned:
      • Larsson
    • Last Time Out…Steve Bruce was without the service of Nicklas Bendtner at the Emirates due to the conditions of his loan deal. Stephane Sessegnon was given the lone striker role in a 4-5-1 with David Vaughan returning to bolster the midfield that also included Lee Cattermole and Jack Colback. Seb Larsson picked up his fifth booking of the season in the 2-1 defeat and will now miss the trip to Bolton.
    • This Time Around…Steve Bruce has revealed that he will play 4-4-2 and switch Stephane Sessegnon to midfield role, with Ahmed Elmohamady possibly making way. Nicklas Bendtner, who will come straight back into the side after sitting out against parent club Arsenal, is now lacking a strike partner and the manager has revealed that he could hand Connor Wickham his first start in the Premier League. Dong-Won Ji is another option up front. Sebastian Larsson will miss out though through suspension and the boss may now push Richardson up to the left-flank. Phil Bardsley returns from his four-game ban and can therefore slot in at left-back.
  16. Swansea City

    Predicted Lineup

    • Vorm
    • Rangel
    • Monk
    • Williams
    • Taylor
    • Dyer
    • Britton
    • Allen
    • Sinclair

    • Next Match: Wolves (A)
    • Out:
      • Agustien
      • Bodde
      • Caulker
      • Dobbie
      • Tate
    • Doubts:
    • Banned:
    • Last Time Out…Brendan Rodgers was able to recall Leon Britton to his midfield, with Mark Gower dropping to the bench to make way. Wayne Routledge supported lone striker Danny Graham. Stephen Dobbie replaced Routledge late on but picked up an ankle knock, forcing the Swans down to ten men, having used all of their subs.
    • This Time Around…Stephan Dobbie, who has mainly been used as a substitute this season, will miss out after suffering an ankle injury in the defeat at Norwich. After finding the back of the net in his last two games, Danny Graham will surely get the nod over Leroy Lita up front. Mark Gower found himself benched last time out and would seem unlikely to dislodge Leon Britton and Joe Allen for a central midfield role. New signing Vangelis Moras could challenge Garry Monk for a central defensive spot.
  17. Tottenham Hotspur

    Predicted Lineup

    • Friedel
    • Walker
    • Kaboul
    • Bassong
    • Assou-Ekotto

      • King
      • Kranjcar
    • Doubts:
    • Banned:
    • Last Time Out…Emmanuel Adebayor shrugged off a hamstring problem to start at Newcastle, while Rafael Van der Vaart was given his wish, playing just off the lone forward, as Luka Modric was moved to the flank by Harry Redknapp. Jake Livermore joined Scott Parker in central midfield, while Jermain Defoe was benched. The striker staked his claim for a starting role next time out with the second goal in the 2-2 draw. Ledley King’s withdrawal due to injury just before the half-hour mark afforded Sebastian Bassong a chance against his former club and adds to Spurs’ injury woes at the back.
    • This Time Around…Ledley King’s groin injury is not as serious as first feared, according to reports, and the central defender should be back by early November. Harry Redknapp will be forced to turn to Sebastien Bassong to partner Younes Kaboul in defence in the meantime, the latter should be recalled here having been rested for Thursday’s Europa League tie. Sandro, who missed out with a calf injury at Newcastle, returned for Thursday’s Europa League tie with Ruben Kazan, along with the Aaron Lennon and Danny Rose – all three are in contention here then. Sandro would seem most likely to start in a central midfield spot, ousting Jake Livermore to the bench. Jermain Defoe could push for a start after coming off the bench last time out to grab a goal at Newcastle but, after playing 90 minutes up front with Roman Pavlyuchenko in Europe, Redknapp would seem likely to stick to a partnership of Emmanuel Adebayor, with Rafael Van der Vaart used up in support.

    • Last Time Out…Roy Hodgson made four changes from the draw at Sunderland. Nicky Shorey surprisingly dropped to the bench with Billy Jones lining up at left-back. James Morrison and Graham Dorrans were amongst the subs as Paul Scharner and Jerome Thomas came in. Somen Tchoyi was given the nod up in support of Shane Long, although Peter Odemwingie came off the bench to notch a goal and push himself forward for a start at Villa.
    • This Time Around…Roy Hodgson is confident that Youssouf Mulumbu and Steven Reid will be fit for the clash. The pair missed training session in the week and are recovering from minor knee and hand problems respectively. Gabriel Tamas’ inclusion is less likely though as he is still suffering with a thigh injury. Peter Odemwingie is expected to start up front alongside Shane Long after scoring in the 2-0 win over Wolves.

    • Last Time Out…Roberto Martinez was able to recall the experience of Antolin Alcaraz to his back four, along with Steve Gohouri, who returned from suspension. Maynor Figueroa dropped to the bench, while Lopez dropped out of the squad. Gomes also missed out in midfield with Dave Jones claiming a starting role. Hugo Rodallega was fit enough to return to the bench and was introduced at half-time as Wigan chased the game to no avail. Ben Watson was forced off at half time with a knock and could be an early doubt for the trip to Newcastle.
    • This Time Around…Roberto Martinez has confirmed that there are no new injuries to worry him for the trip to the North East. Although, with five defeats in a row behind them, the manager may look to ring the changes. David Jones, who won his first start of the season last time out, could hold on to a midfield role. Shaun Maloney, Jordi Gomez and James McArthur will all push for recalls. Hugo Rodallega would seem most likely to be drafted in after impressing from the bench last time out.

    • Last Time Out…With Steven Fletcher missing out due to a calf injury, Mick McCarthy opted for a 4-5-1, as Stephen Hunt dropped to the bench. Adam Hammill came into the lineup, while Nenad Milijas also claimed a starting role. Sylvan Ebanks-Blake was fit enough for a return to the bench and may come into contention for a start with Fletcher set to be sidelined for two-to-four weeks.
    • This Time Around…Mick McCarty must make a decision on formation and a partner for Kevin Doyle after it was confirmed that Stephen Fletcher will spend the next few weeks on the sidelines. Nenad Milijas could hold on to his advanced central midfield role in the 4-5-1 formation or, if fit, Dave Edwards may come in. Alternatively, McCarthy could be tempted to hand Sylvan Ebanks-Blake his first Premier League start of the season alongside Doyle in a 4-4-2 formation. Stephen Hunt and Adlene Guedioura both found themselves benched last time out and could challenge the likes of Adam Hammill for starting roles. Kevin Foley is facing further time on the sidelines after undergoing an operation on a long-term ankle problem.

Everton v Liverpool preview

Form guide
Everton: LWDWL
Liverpool: WWLLW

Injuries
Everton: Anichebe
Liverpool: Agger, Johnson

What If....
The ref likes his cards? Referee Martin Atkinson is 7/1 to give out two or more red cards in the Merseyside derby.

For David Moyes it is the chance to build on some steadily improving home form that has seen the Blues recover from that shock opening game defeat to QPR to go unbeaten in their last four games in all competitions in front of their own supporters.

They also have fond memoires of last season's home encounter with Liverpool, when they strolled to a comfortable 2-0 win thanks to goals from Mikel Arteta and Tim Cahill.

It is a very different Liverpool team though that will take to the field on Saturday, complete with a new - or should that be familiar - man in the dugout.

Reds boss Kenny Dalglish is preparing to return to Goodison Park as Liverpool manager for the first time since 1991.

Back then Dalglish famously quit the Anfield club just days after a tumultuous 4-4 FA Cup tie with the Toffees, citing the pressure of the job and the strain it had taken on him over the years.

His return last January was equally dramatic and the intervening nine months has seen him stamp his authority on the squad with a number of big money incomings and notable departures.

The situation could not be more different across Stanley Park, with Toffees boss Moyes forced to work on a shoestring budget, raising nearly £15million in player sales over the summer but only bringing in three loan signings.

Despite the financial disparity the Blues could go above their old rivals with a win on Saturday, with a game in hand.

Liverpool's Dirk Kuyt and Everton's Tim Cahill appear to relish this fixture more than most and the pair have five derby goals to their name. The Australian has scored more derby goals than any other Everton player since the war.

The game could hinge on referee Martin Atkinson, who faces the unenviable task of trying to manage the Premier League's most volatile encounter. This match-up has seen 19 red cards since the start of the Premier League, more than any other fixture.

Atkinson showed six yellows and two reds the last time he was on duty in a Merseyside derby, at Anfield in February 2010.

Therefore the derby spoils could hinge on who keeps their head in the white hot atmosphere of a packed Goodison Park on Saturday lunchtime.

Team news

Cahill is a doubt for Everton after he sustained a shin injury in a challenge with Manchester City'sVincent Kompany last weekend. The Australian hasn't trained all week but Moyes will leave it as late as possible before deciding on the 32-year-old's fitness.

Striker Louis Saha is pushing for a recall after appearing as a substitute against City last weekend but fellow forward Victor Anichebe remains side-lined until December.

For Liverpool, skipper Steven Gerrard looks likely to start from the bench as he edges his way back to full fitness. The England man has played just 25 minutes of competitive football since recovering from a groin operation.

Glen Johnson is out with hamstring strain while Daniel Agger will also miss out as he recovers from a rib injury.

Possible starting XIs
Everton: Howard, Hibbert, Baines, Jagielka, Distin, Rodwell, Fellaini, Osman, Coleman, Cahill, Saha.

Liverpool: Reina, Enrique, Carragher, Kelly, Skrtel, Kuyt, Downing, Lucas, Adam, Suarez, Carroll.

week 7 EPL Team News & Prediction

Arsenal

Next Match: Tottenham (A)
Out: Diaby, Wilshere, Vermaelen, Djourou, Koscielny
Doubts: Benayoun, Gervinho, Walcott, Squillaci
Banned:
Last Time Out….Arsene Wenger made two personnel changes from the side that lost at Blackburn the previous gameweek. Kieran Gibbs returned at left-back to replace Andre Santos and Andrei Arshavin dropped to the bench as Theo Walcott regained his place in the starting XI. The move saw Gervinho swap flanks, returning to the left to accommodate Walcott on the right. With a lack of fit central defenders, Arsene Wenger utilised Alex Song as Per Mertersacker’s partner for the Champions League show-down with Olympiakos. The manager rested Robin Van Persie and Aaron Ramsey, whilst Theo Walcott and Gervinho missed out through injury. This meant Marouane Chamakh, Alex Oxlade-Chamberlaine, Tomas Rosicky and Andrey Arshavin all started. Andre Santos was favoured over Kieran Gibbs.
This Time Around….Alex Song may be forced to, once again, feature out of position for the Gunners in central defence, although Sébastien Squillaci is back in training and be fit enough to return in this one – Laurent Koscielny and Johan Djourou are both absentees once again. If Song is used as part of the back four, Emmanuel Frimpong should hold on to his place in central midfield. Robin Van Persie and Aaron Ramsey will surely return to the starting lineup having been rested for the midweek Champions League win over Olympiakos, whilst Theo Walcott and Gervinho could occupy the flanks, although both remain injury doubts and late decisions will be made on the pair – Walcott is the most likely to return according to Wenger. Andrei Arshavin could earn a start here then, while Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain, Tomas Rosicky and Marouane Chamakh who started in the midweek, look set for bench roles. The Arsenal boss must choose between Kieran Gibbs and Andre Santos for the left-back role – the latter found the net in Wednesday’s tie but could well make way having started that one.
Predicted Lineup: Szczęsny, Sagna, Mertersacker, Song, Gibbs; Frimpong, Arteta, Walcott, Ramsey, Arshavin; Van Persie.

Aston Villa

Next Match: Wigan (H)
Out: Lichaj
Doubts: Jenas, Clark, Herd, Cuellar, Heskey, Bent, Collins
Banned:
Last Time Out….A groin injury to Darren Bent meant Alex McLeish made one change to the Aston Villa lineup as they travelled to QPR. Gabby Agbonlahor led the line, with Stephen Ireland given a rare start in the hole behind. Barry Bannan was again preferred to Marc Albrighton on the right and scored with a spot-kick in the one-all draw.
This Time Around….Darren Bent has confirmed that he will be “100% for Wigan on Saturday”, and should come straight into the starting lineup. His availability will therefore see Alex McLeish reshuffle the pack. McLeish could switch to a 4-4-2 formation here, with Gabriel Agbonlahor as Bent’s striker partner, although a 4-2-3-1 setup could be employed again, with Agbonlahor switching to the left-wing. Stephen Ireland is the leading candidate to find himself on the bench to accommodate Bent’s return. James Collins is a doubt after a leg injury sustained at QPR. Elsewhere, you would expect to see the manager keep the same side. Though, Emile Heskey and, in particular, Jermaine Jenas could come into contention and push for places with McLeish reporting that they were back in training.
Predicted Lineup: Given, Hutton, Dunne, Collins, Warnock; Petrov, Delph, N’Zogbia, Bannan; Agbonlahor, Bent.

Blackburn Rovers

Next Match: Man City (H)
Out: Nelsen
Doubts: Dunn, Pedersen, Goodwillie, Dann, Givet, Salgado
Banned: Olsson
Last Time Out….A trip to Newcastle saw Martin Olsson come in for Ruben Rochina in Blackburn’s only change from the previous week’s win over Arsenal. The Swede saw red for two yellow cards, however, and will miss the home clash with Man City. Steve Kean admitted Scott Dann played through the pain barrier and may also be a doubt.
This Time Around…. Scott Dann and Michel Salgado are both injury concerns for Steve Kean, the defenders will undergo late fitness tests ahead of the fixture. The defensive woes do not end there for Rovers as Gael Givet is also nursing a knock, although he has come through this week and trained. Add a Martin Olsson suspension to the mix, and a makeshift defence is a real possibility for this one. Grant Hanley could partner Chris Samba at centre-back, with Jason Lowe and potential début Bruno Ribeiro options in the full-back positions. Morten Gamst Pederson and David Goodwillie could make returns to the squad from injury, whilst David Dunn could also come back into contention.
Predicted Lineup: Robinson, Salgado, Dann, Samba, Givet; NZonzi, Lowe, Formica, Rochina, Hoilett; Yakubu.

Bolton Wanderers

Next Match: Chelsea (H)
Out: Alonso, S Davies, Lee, Mears, Ricketts, Kakuta, Holden
Doubts: Jaaskelainen
Banned: Klasnic, Wheater
Last Time Out….Owen Coyle chose a 4-5-1 formation for the trip to Arsenal and made the surprise decision to bench Kevin Davies, with David N’Gog named as the lone forward. Gary Cahill missed out through illness, giving David Wheater a rare start in central defence but received a straight red card and will miss this week’s game at home to Chelsea. Chris Eagles started on the right wing in place of Tuncay and Fabrice Muamba returned to bolster the central midfield.
This Time Around….Having just made his comeback from a lengthy period on the sidelines, Stuart Holden has been dealt the news that he will spend a further six months out with his ongoing knee problem. Gary Cahill is back in contention and should return into central defence after missing the defeat to Arsenal with illness, replacing David Wheater, who is suspended for this one after receiving his marching orders at the Emirates. Owen Coyle will be expected to switch to a 4-4-2 having gone with 4-5-1 at Arsenal and, with Ivan Klasnic still suspended, Kevin Davies will be expected to return to the starting lineup to partner David Ngog up front. Jussi Jaaskelainen is considered touch and go with a leg injury and we could see Adam Bogdan deputise.
Predicted Lineup: Jaaskelainen, Steinsson, Cahill, Knight, Robinson; Reo-Coker, Muamba, Petrov, Eagles; Ngog, K Davies.

Chelsea

Next Match: Bolton (A)
Out: Essien, Hilario
Doubts:
Banned: Torres
Last Time Out….Daniel Sturridge dropped out through injury, allowing Nicolas Anelka to return to the right of Chelsea’s front three. John Obi Mikel also returned, with Raul Meireles moving to the left of the midfield three, as Frank Lampard was benched. Fernando Torres’ red card leaves a gap in the central forward position, with Didier Drogba and Anelka likely to battle it out, depending on Sturridge’s availability for the trip to Bolton. For the Champions League trip to Valenica, Frank Lampard was favoured in midfield, fetching the side’s only goal of the game, with Raul Meireles on the bench. Florent Malouda got the nod over Nicolas Anelka in the forward three, and Branislav Ivanovic made way for David Luiz at the back.
This Time Around….With Fernando Torres starting the first of a three game suspension, Andre Villas-Boas is left to shuffle the pack up front. Juan Mata seems to be a given on the left side of a three man attack and Daniel Sturridge, now fully recovered from a knee injury, could occupy the right. This leaves Nicolas Anelka and Didier Drogba fighting it out for a place in the middle, with Anekla perhaps favoured and Drogba coming off the bench. After impressing with a Champions League goal, Frank Lampard may well keep his place midfield although competition in a 4-3-3 looks fierce. The in-form Ramires will surely continue in the starting lineup, whilst Mikel and Raul Meireles will also be vying for starts. Branislav Ivanovic will likely be favoured over David Luiz at centre-back having been rested for the European tie.
Predicted Lineup: Cech, Bosingwa, Ivanovic, Terry, Cole; Ramires, Meireles, Mikel; Mata, Anelka, Sturridge.

Everton

Next Match: Liverpool (H)
Out: Anichebe
Doubts: Cahill
Banned:
Last Time Out….David Moyes made just one change to his lineup for the trip to Man City. Phil Neville came back into the starting XI, with Diniyar Bilyaletdinov dropping out. This meant Leon Osman moved to the left, with Neville sitting in front of the defence in a more defensive 4-1-4-1 formation. Tim Cahill continued as the lone Toffees forward.
This Time Around….Tim Cahill has trained ahead of the Merseyside derby and will undergo a fitness test before the game. Cahill, who suffered a shin injury against Manchester City last weekend, has been leading the Everton attack in recent weeks and his potential absence could leave a place up front. With Victor Anichebe injured, the role could be handed to Louis Saha, who had been out of favour in recent weeks, or Denis Stracqualursi who could start his first Premier League game. Phil Neville may once again be used in midfield, adding protection to the backline, whilst Roysten Drenthe and Apostolos Vellios will likely be pushing for minutes from the bench.
Predicted Lineup: Howard, Hibbert, Baines, Jagielka, Distin; Fellaini, Rodwell, Neville, Coleman, Osman, Cahill.

Fulham

Next Match: QPR (H)
Out: Davies
Doubts: Hughes, Zamora, Dembele
Banned:
Last Time Out….Bobby Zamora missed out due to illness and Damien Duff was stood down for “personal reasons” for the game at West Brom. Orlando Sa came into the first XI, joining Moussa Dembele up front for the Cottagers, with Patjim Kasami given a chance on the right. Zdenek Grygera replaced Stephen Kelly at right-back as Fulham picked up their first clean sheet since gameweek 1.
This Time Around….Mousa Dembele and Bobby Zamora could come back into the squad after missing out on Thursday’s Europa League action through illness. The pair are currently Martin Jol’s preferred strikers, although Andy Johnson announced his return to fitness in some style with a brace in Thursday’s Europa tie Johnson, along with Orland Sa, could both be in Jol’s plans here. The manager will hope to welcome back Aaron Hughes from injury, the defender has missed the last two Premier League games with a knock and was absent again in Thursday’s tie. Damien Duff did make a return for that one after sitting out the West Brom stalemate due to personal reasons and should start against Rangers.
Predicted Lineup: Schwarzer, Baird, Hangeland, Grygera, Riise; Duff, Sidwell, Murphy, Dempsey; Dembele, Zamora.

Liverpool

Next Match: Everton (A)
Out: Agger, Johnson
Doubts:
Banned:
Last Time Out….Martin Kelly, having returned to action in the midweek Carling Cup match at Brighton, returned at right-back in the home game with Wolves. With Daniel Agger injured, Martin Skrtel moved into central defence. Kenny Dalglish kept faith with Andy Carroll, despite Craig Bellamy and Dirk Kuyt both scoring in the 2-1 win over Brighton. Steven Gerrard came on as a late substitute for his first league appearance of the season with eight minutes left on the clock.
This Time Around….Kenny Dalglish welcomed back Daniel Agger to training this week and the centre-back, who has been ever-present in central-defence this season until suffering a rib injury against Tottenham, could come straight back in alongside Jamie Carragher. If Agger does return to the starting lineup, Martin Skrtel could shift over to right-back with Martin Kelly dropping to the bench. A decision must be made over Andy Carroll’s place in attack, with Dirk Kuyt and Craig Bellamy further options. The manager remained cagey over the chances of Steven Gerrard returning to the starting lineup, his inclusion could see Charlie Adam or Jordan Henderson benched.
Predicted Lineup: Reina, Kelly, Carragher, Skrtel, Enrique; Adam, Lucas, Henderson, Downing; Suarez, Carroll.

Manchester City

Next Match: Blackburn (A)
Out: Tevez
Doubts:
Banned:
Last Time Out….After resting the vast majority of his players in the midweek Carling Cup game with Birmingham, Roberto Mancini named an unchanged lineup from the side that started the previous league game with Fulham, meaning starts up front for Sergio Aguero and Edin Dzeko. The major talking point from the Champions League defeat at Bayern Munich came from Carlos Tevez’s alleged refusal to come off the bench, the striker is now suspended by the club. Nigel de Jong returned from injury and earned a place on the bench, whilst Kolo Toure started his first game since returning from suspension with Joleon Lescott making way. Roberto Mancini hinted that Edin Dzeko would be benched after reacting angrily to being substituted early in the second-half, Mario Balotelli is the likely replacement.
This Time Around….With Carlos Tevez suspended by the club and Roberto Mancini revealing that Edin Dzeko will join the manager on the bench, Sergio Aguero should be partnered by Mario Balotelli up front. Dzeko has since publically apologised, making peace with Mancini, and he could therefore force his way back on to the team-sheet. The manager may wish to freshen things up a bit after the midweek game and he has options with James Milner, Adam Johnson, Nigel de Jong, Joleon Lescott, Aleksander Kolarov and Pablo Zabaleta all fresh and able to slot into the starting lineup. That could see the likes of Gael Clichy, Micah Richards and possibly Samir Nasri make way.
Predicted Lineup: Hart, Richards, Kompany, Lescott, Clichy; Y Toure, Barry, Silva, Nasri; Aguero, Balotelli.

Manchester United

Next Match: Norwich (H)
Out: Rafael, Gibson, Vidic, Cleverley, Smalling
Doubts: Evans
Banned:
Last Time Out….The big news was, of course, Wayne Rooney’s omission due to a hamstring strain. Dimitar Berbatov joined Javier Hernandez up front but the Mexican lasted just three minutes before a challenge from Jonathan Woodgate saw him limp off and replaced by Michael Owen. Antonio Valencia came in at right-back due to Chris Smalling’s groin injury. A foot injury meant Jonny Evans was replaced by Rio Ferdinand in central defence. For the Champions League clash with Basle, Sir Alex Ferguson made further changes. Danny Welbeck grabbed a brace whilst leading the attack. He was supported by an attacking midfield three of Ashley Young and Antionio Valencia on the flanks and Ryan Giggs in a central position. Fabio came into the team at right-back, and Michael Carrick joined Anderson in central midfield with Darren Fletcher benched.
This Time Around….It has been confirmed that Sir Alex Ferguson will welcome back first-choice strikers Javier Hernandez and Wayne Rooney for the clash. It had been thought that that Dimitar Berbatov, who didn’t start against Basel in midweek, would partner Danny Welbeck up front. But given Rooney and Hernandez’s surprise return to fitness, they seem more likely. Michael Owen is another option but the veteran striker is, perhaps, the least likely to get the nod. Johnny Evans could come back into contention and partner Rio Ferdinand in central-defence although the latter may require a rest having just returned to fitness. Phil Jones seems set to remain in the centre then, with Antonio Valencia vying with Fabio for a start at right-back. Chris Smalling will miss out, once again. Darren Fletcher may replace Michael Carrick in central-midfield, while Nani will surely be restored to the starting lineup having figured from the bench on Tuesday.
Predicted Lineup: De Gea, Valencia, Ferdinand, Jones, Evra; Nani, Anderson, Fletcher, Young; Rooney, Hernandez.

Newcastle United

Next Match: Wolves (A)
Out: Williamson, Smith
Doubts: Sh Ameobi, Vuckic
Banned:
Last Time Out….Alan Pardew kept faith with the side that drew at Aston Villa the previous week. He was rewarded with a 3-1 win over Blackburn, with Demba Ba finally starting to settle since his summer move with a finely taken hat-trick. The game also saw Hatem Ben Arfa return to the fold, coming on as a second half substitute.
This Time Around….Having come through a reserve match in midweek Davide Santon has been included in the squad, though is likely to make do with a place on the bench. Shola Ameobi missed out last week due to a shoulder injury but, even if fully-fit, is unlikely to dispossess the impressive Demba Ba and Leon Best up front. Hatem Ben Arfa should feature once again, although a place on the bench is likely as Newcastle look to ease him back into action. Haris Vuckic is on the road to recovery after undergoing an operation on his hand but should still be considered a doubt.
Predicted Lineup: Krul, Simpson, Coloccini, S Taylor, R Taylor; Cabaye, Tiote, Gutierrez, Obertan; Ba, Best.

Norwich

Next Match: Man United (A)
Out: Ayala, Ward, Whitbread, De Laet, Vaughan
Doubts:
Banned:
Last Time Out….Paul Lambert fielded the same starting XI that beat Bolton and Norwich picked up their second win in a row in a 2-1 Carrow Road win. Steve Morison kept his place as the lone forward in a 4-5-1, with Grant Holt reduced to a role as a late sub. Russell Martin’s adaptability looks bad news for Ritchie De Laet, as the Canaries skipper slotted into central defence again, keeping the on-loan Man United youngster benched for the second game running.
This Time Around….James Vaughan has been ruled out until the New Year with a knee injury sustained against Sunderland on Monday night. After grabbing a goal against the Black Cats, Steve Morison should hold on to his place up front, with Grant Holt once again benched. A 4-5-1 formation has harvested six points from the last two games, though Paul Lambert fielded a 5-4-1 at Chelsea and may consider this shape for the trip to Old Trafford. Ritchie De Laet is unavailable for this game against his parent club but has been benched for the past two games, with Russell Martin claiming the centre-back role alongside Leon Barnett.
Predicted Lineup: Ruddy, R Martin, Naughton, Barnett, Tierney; Johnson, Fox, Hoolahan, Bennett, Pilkington; Morison.

QPR

Next Match: Fulham (H)
Out: Dyer, Hulse, Mackie
Doubts: Gabbidon
Banned: Traore
Last Time Out….A knee injury to Danny Gabbidon gave Fitz Hall the chance to partner Anton Ferdinand in central defence at Aston Villa. This was Neil Warnock’s only change from the side that won at Wolves, with Jay Bothroyd kept as the lone striker despite failing to find the net so far. Armand Traore’s red card means he misses the next match at Fulham
This Time Around….Armand Troare’s suspension could offer Matthew Connelly a chance at left-back. With form on their side, QPR boss Neil Warnock is unlikely to many enforced changes to his starting lineup. Danny Gabbidon could recover from a knee injury that saw him miss the game against Aston Villa and return in central defence at the expense of Fitz Hall. DJ Campbell will be pushing Jay Bothroyd for a place up front, but may have to make do with a substitute role. Jamie Mackie, who has returned to full training following a broken leg, is thought to be some way from making the first-team.
Predicted Lineup: Kenny, Young, Gabbidon, Ferdinand, Connolly; Derry, Faurlin, Barton, Wright-Phillips, Taarabt; Boothroyd.

Stoke City

Next Match: Swansea (A)
Out: Fuller, Higginbotham, Jones
Doubts: Diao, Sidibe
Banned:
Last Time Out….Tony Pulis made three changes for the visit of Man United. Andy Wilkinson was preferred to Robert Huth at right-back, Glenn Whelan came into central midfield for Dean Whitehead and up front, Jonathan Walters partnered Peter Crouch, as Cameron Jerome dropped to the bench.
This Time Around….After their impressive draw with Manchester United last weekend, Tony Pulis could field an unchanged side. Cameron Jerome could force his way into the starting lineup though, partnering Peter Crouch up front with Jonathan Walters adept at switching to a midfield role. Elsewhere, there are no new injury concerns for the manager. Mamady Sidibe made his comeback for the reserves against Nottingham Forest but, given the length of his absence, is surely nowhere near a first-team recall.
Predicted Lineup: Begovic, Huth, Shawcross, Woodgate, Wilson; Delap, Whitehead, Etherington, Pennant, Walters; Crouch

Sunderland

Next Match: West Brom (H)
Out: Angeleri, Campbell, Gordon, Meyler, Bramble
Doubts:
Banned: Bardsley
Last Time Out….Steve Bruce kept faith with the dame XI that hammered Stoke 4-0 the previous gameweek, with David Vaughan keeping Black Cats skipper Lee Cattermole on the bench. Bruce turned to Connor Wickham and Ji Dong-Won as he chased a two-goal deficit late in the second half but despite a Kieran Richardson goal, the Black Cats slipped to defeat.
This Time Around….Titus Bramble has been suspended from first-team duties, leaving a place in central defence up for grabs – Michael Turner is ready to make his first appearance of the season, although there could be some concern about throwing him in here after a long absence. Steve Bruce could shift John O’Shea to a central role and draft in Elmohamady at right-back as an alternative. Bruce has admitted that “six or seven players played well below their level” against Norwich, and Stephane Sessegnon and Elmohamady’s places in the starting lineup are understood to be at risk. It has been reported that the manager could switch to a 4-4-2 with Connor Wickham partnering Nicklas Bendtner up front, and Lee Cattermole returning to central midfield with David Vaughan or Craig Gardner moving out wide.
Predicted Lineup: Mignolet, O’Shea, Turner, Brown, Richardson; Vaughan, Cattermole, Larsson, Gardner; Wickham, Bendtner.

Swansea

Next Match: Stoke (H)
Out: Bodde, Tate, Agustien, Caulker, Beattie
Doubts: Britton
Banned:
Last Time Out….For the trip to Stamford Bridge, Brendan Rodgers unsurprisingly kept the same starting XI that saw off West Brom 3-0 the previous week. This meant Leroy Lita kept his place as the lone front man ahead of Danny Graham after a goal and assist against the Baggies. Wayne Routledge replaced Leon Britton after the interval, with Graham and Stephen Dobbie coming off the bench late in the second half.
This Time Around….Leon Britton is struggling with the back problem that forced him off at half time last week, meaning Wayne Routledge or Stephen Dobbie could feature in central midfield. Danny Graham is fully fit after a back problem and will do battle with Leroy Lita for a place up front. Ferry Bodde, who has yet to feature this season, has been hit by the news that he will have to undergo an operation to cure his continued knee problem.
Predicted Lineup: Vorm, Rangel, Monk, Williams, Taylor; Allen, Gower, Routledge; Dyer, Sinclair, Graham.

Tottenham Hotspur

Next Match: Arsenal (H)
Out: Huddlestone, Pienaar, Dawson, Kranjcar
Doubts: Defoe, Lennon
Banned:
Last Time Out….Jermain Defoe was ruled out with a bug, forcing Harry Redknapp to shuffle his pack. Sandro came in alongside Scott Parker in central midfield, as Luka Modric moved out to the right, with license to come inside in a more tucked-in position, allowing Kyle Walker to bomb forward from right-back. Rafael Van der Vaart returned, playing just off lone front man Emmanuel Adebayor, with Gareth Bale wide left.
This Time Around…. Harry Redknapp could continue with the 4-2-3-1 system he fielded at Wigan, meaning a place on the bench for Jermain Defoe, despite his return to action in the Europa League game with Shamrock Rovers. Sandro could continue in central midfield alongside Scott Parker, with Luka Modric on the right and Rafael Van der Vaart will play in a more advanced role just off Emmanuel Adebayor. Danny Rose should return to the squad after featuring in the Europa League, whilst Aaron Lennon was substituted at half-time with a recurrence of a groin injury and is considered a doubt.
Predicted Lineup: Friedel; Walker, King, Kaboul, Assou-Ekotto; Parker, Sandro, Modric, Bale, Van der Vaart; Adebayor.

Last Time Out….Gareth McAuley replaced Craig Dawson at centre half for the Baggies home clash with Fulham. Graham Dorrans came into central midfield for Paul Scharner in the only other change but despite fielding his first-choice strike-force of Shane Long and Peter Odemwingie, West Brom failed to find the net yet again- a second clean sheet of the season will be scant consolation, as they picked up their first home point of the campaign.
This Time Around….Roy Hodgson has revealed he may persist with a 4-3-3 formation, despite abandoning it at half time against Fulham and reverting back to 4-4-2. The idea is to use Jerome Thomas in a more advanced position as a left-sided forward, with Peter Odemwingie on the opposite side and Shane Long in the middle. The manager has also admitted that Paul Scharner, Zoltan Gera, James Morrison and George Thorne could all push for places in midfield.
Predicted Lineup: Foster, Reid, McAuley, Olsson, Shorey; Mulumbu, Brunt, Thomas, Dorrans; Odemwingie, Long.

Wigan Athletic

Next Match: Aston Villa (A)
Out: Alcaraz, Rodallega
Doubts: Boyce
Banned: Gohouri
Last Time Out….Steve Gohouri came in for Adrian Lopez at right-back, in the continued absence of Emmerson Boyce. Gohouri picked up two yellows, both for fouls on Gareth Bale, and will miss the visit to Aston Villa. Mohamed Diame replaced Jordi Gomez in the midfield three and grabbed a goal- the latter was moved to left of the front three in light of Hugo Rodallega’s knee injury.
This Time Around…. Emmerson Boyce is back in training but remains a doubt for the trip to Aston Villa. If he fails to recover from the hamstring problem that has sidelined him for the last two games, Adrian Lopez could return at right-back. Roberto Martinez is without the suspended Steve Gohouri, after he picked up two yellow cards against Spurs. Antolin Alcaraz and Hugo Rodallega remain on the sidelines, meaning Jordi Gomez could continue left of the front three.
Predicted Lineup: Al Habsi, Van Aanholt, Lopez, Caldwell, Figueroa; Diame, Watson, Gomez, McCarthy, Moses; Di Santo.

Wolverhampton Wanderers

Next Match: Newcastle (H)
Out: Ebanks-Blake, Foley, Craddock, Zubar

Last Time Out….Mick McCarthy fielded a 4-5-1 for the first time this season for the trip to Liverpool. Stephen Ward returned to left-back as Kevin Doyle led the line. Dave Edwards and Stephen Hunt came in to bolster the midfield, as Michael Kightly dropped down to the bench. Big Mick reverted to 4-4-2 after the break, bringing Steven Fletcher on to partner Doyle and the Scotsman picked up a goal in the 2-1 defeat.
This Time Around….After fielding a 4-4-1-1 against Liverpool, Mick McCarthy has confirmed he will return to his preferred 4-4-2 for the home clash with Newcastle. Dave Edwards was deployed just behind Kevin Doyle at Anfield, but Stephen Fletcher should get the nod in a two man attack, having scored as a substitute in last week’s 2-1 loss and now fully recovered from a groin problem. With right-back Richard Stearman considered a doubt due to a toe injury, Big Mick has revealed that youngster Matt Doherty could make his first league start. Ronald Zubar made his return to the reserves this week having been sidelined since February, but is some way away from match fitness.
Predicted Lineup: Hennessey, Stearman, Berra, Johnson, Ward, Henry, O’Hara, Hunt, Jarvis; Fletcher, Doyle
